Great case for LX5,
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this case at first, but decide to give it a try. The case fits the LUMIX LX5 perfectly and provides the right protection. It also comes with a wrist strap along with the neck strap, so I put the wrist strap on the camera, which didn’t have it. Now the camera is well protected.

|Better Than Panasonic Factory Case?,
I may be late to the party but just got a Panasonic Lumix LX5 and after dropping and cracking the LCD on my last Panasonic thought I would get a good case – and did not see a factory Panasonic case offered with the camera – curious.
Went online and saw postings whereas they were hard to come by and often had a price tag of over $100!! This did not feel right so looked at the alternate offered by Amazon of this case which had a nice retro look and was reasonable at less than $20 – so gave it a try. Though skeptical upon first glance because it seemed bulky and plastic-y it’s grown on me and now realize it is leather (thought it might be vinyl) and works well.
Protection is foremost for me right now, over pocket-ability and this case does that well. Ease of use and quick draw-ing are also important and I’ve got it set up with a leather strap (did not like the packaged vinyl-feeling strap) and Olympus wrist band (ditto for the cheap provided wrist band). In viewing pics of the factory case, which looks like it screws onto the camera using the tripod mount, I know I’ve never liked that set-up before because when you see the shot and want you camera out, the whole case is hanging off it too, much too cumbersome especially if you want to flip to frame a vertical shot.
The one snap bottom magnetic latch is easy to undo without looking – likewise to latch it. Most important of all, it looks professional and competent and am sure once it’s worn a bit, that it will develop that worn patina I like.

|Sturdy and good looking Lumix LX5 case,
This case is a perfect fit for the Panasonic Lumix LX5. It has a convenient belt loop. I did not use the included hand strap or shoulder strap. This is a semi-hard case. The outside leather has an eggshell gloss – not too shiny and not flat – just right. The inside has a soft cloth lining.
