I wanted to get an LCD screen protector for my newly purchased Lumx LX5. And I wanted it as quickly as possible. Unfortunately I ordered a similar but incorrectly fitting LCD screen protector in my first attempt. The one you DO NOT want to order is the GGS Optical Glass LCD Screen Protector 3.0″ for Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 10.1 MP Digital Cameras, it only covers over the actual 3″ LCD but not the complete screen on the back of the LX5.
This is the one you want to get and it fits the back screen of the LX5 perfectly… absolutely perfectly. It is optically pure unlike many of the soft plastic screen protectors out there. Since it is actually mult-laminated and does contain glass, it can be broken either during installation, or while on your camera. The idea is that it is protecting your LX5 screen, so if the protector cracks while on your camera, consider it cheap insurance because if it cracks or gets scratched, it could have been your actual LX5 screen if you had not installed this beforehand.
In any case, you must install this very carefully, ensuring that your screen is completely dust-free and clean before you stick the protector on. The adhesive is only around the edges and once it’s dropped on, you don’t really get a second chance. If you ever want to remove it, you have to very carefully lift an edge a minute amount then use something like a credit card to slowly work your away around the LX5 screen to unglue the protector. You can’t just bend it up and lift because it is glass and will snap.
This is great protection for my LX5 and I feel much better knowing that my screen is not going to get scratched. I can’t really think if anything negative at all so it gets 5 stars from me.

|At the reduced price, a no-brainer,
I picked this up on a whim when the price dropped. Within a few days of putting it on the camera, my wife dropped the camera in a parking lot. The protective glass shattered. The camera’s native glass below was untouched. The broken protector was easy to pull off. Buying two more now to replace it. At the current price, a GREAT purchase.

|Perfect Fit for LX-5,
This screen protector fits the LX-5 perfectly. I find that the cameras lcd is scratched very easily so I was glad to find a nice strong screen protector. Very easy to fit even though the instructions are in Chinese. There are youtube videos on how to install if needed. Just peel off backing, line up and stick on! Oh and by the way the left side of the GGS protector says “LX-3/LX-5/D-LUX4″ if that matters to you.
